Getting off 400 north at exit 11 takes a lot longer now that the extra left turn lane has been added. The traffic backed up quite a ways on 400. is it possible the timing of the lights could be changed to allow more traffic getting off of 400 to go through the light each time?

The traffic signals at the GA400 interchange were altered to address this issue. Unfortunately, this resulted in severe congestion along Windward Parkway that was negatively impacting residents and businesses.
The City has reconfigured the signal timing along Windward Parkway to better address the needs of our residents and businesses. This will, however, result in fewer vehicles being able flow from the GA400 ramp onto westbound Windward Parkway during a given signal cycle.
Simply put, the decision by the Georgia Department of Transportation to open the right shoulder of GA400 as a travel lane during peak commute periods is overloading Windward Parkway. While the City does have a concept plan for adding a westbound travel lane on Windward from GA400 to State Route 9, that plan will still not address the capacity issues created by GDOT's decision.
