Descrição

At some point in 2013 or early 2014, two gentlemen came out to open the fire hydrant located near the sidewalk in front of our house. They were apparently testing it. A lot of water came out as a result, and it stained the sidewalk and driveway area between the sidewalk and the street. The water came out with such force that it also loosened the pavers that were at the edge of the driveway where it meets the sidewalk, on the side closer to the house. At the time, my neighbor and I were not happy about the rust-like stains that were left, and the pavers sunk only slightly. I also didn’t worry about the pavers at the time, but they eventually sunk more. I have enclosed a picture of what they sunk to. Now, my homeowner’s association is requiring me to fix the pavers. I don’t think I should bear the cost of having to repair them, since they were damaged by an action of a department of the city of Pembroke Pines. I need the city to arrange to have these pavers repaired, or to agree to pay for the repair of the pavers, which could be $500 to $1000, depending on the damage underneath.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Best Regards,
Marcelo Echeverria
