Many of the street lights along Colony Road and Runneymead Lane adjacent to AG Middle School and Myers Park HIgh School do not work and have not worked for many months. We reported this to Duke Power, but nothing has happened. We even marked the poles with yellow tape back in the fall (some tape is still up and some has been torn off). I'd be happy to do this again. By my recollection, there were 15-18 lights not working in a fairly small area around the schools. We have safety fears for pedestrians, bikers, drivers and neighboring residents. Traffic in the area is notable. The student death at Garinger this week prompts us to report this to you as an issue. It needs to be elevated. The City is paying for lighting which is not working.
