Description

Often reported and mostly ignored, something HAS to be done about this intersection. Specifically afternoon traffic from Research Park turning north onto hwy 53. Yesterday, 8 MAY15, as I was waiting in the turn lane I counted 17 cars go to the front of the line and either insert themselves into the front of the line or turn threewide through the intersection. This is from the time I could see the light so I know they did not go straight or turn south on 53. This does not include the cars that went around the line before I could see the light. This intersection is poorly designed for the amount of traffic that passes through and I am surprised there are not daily wrecks. As someone who sees the same vehicles in traffic day in and day out I can tell you the anger/frustration level of those waiting in line to turn is rising. If nothing is done I feel strongly that there will be road rage issues here in the near future. Please SOMEONE do somethign about this besides passing the buck. The police that were there for one afternoon helped, but I haven't seen them in months.
