Visually disabled and the busy intersection makes it impossible to cross the street to access the cross street. Is it possible to add an audible crossing signal to cross the street safely for the disabled or visually impaired? Or is there a form or number to call to apply for this? Thanks for your help.

Getting off the metro there is a pedestrian walkway immediately to get passengers from the Marta station across to Main St into the city of East Point Unfortunately it is not accessible for the Visually impaired and the busy street makes it impossible to cross the street to get into the city Is it possible to add an audible crossing signal to cross the street safely for the disabled or visually impaired? I have contacted Georgia TDOT and I have contacted Atlanta TDOT and they have both informed me this is a city issue. Georgia TDOT only handles free ways and highways.

All this is, is an attachment to the visible crossing sign that is already there. The city handles the crosswalks and lights. Most major city has these to help the handicap cross the street. Can you please look into this option further versus closing the request instantly. Thanks for your help and I’m just trying to get a safe way to cross the street. Thanks again
