Vinny, I applaud you for bringing to the town's attention the trash in front of South School. I live in that end of town. Sometime this Sat., May 2, if it isn't raining, and the trash has not been cleaned up by someone, I am willing to go over there myself with a trash bag and attempt to clean it up. I will do this after I participate in the clean up on the Rail Road Right of Way between Montvale Ave. and Maple St., home of the future Greenway, between 9 and 11 am. Will you join me? It's an opportunity to display some civic pride, which we could all do more of. Thank you in advance. Cindy
4/30/15 @ 10:45am - Spoke with principal at South Elementary to affirm complaints. She will be contacting Superintendent Olsen in order to ensure that the clean-up of school grounds happens on a town-wide scale. Complaint closed.
Why would you close this? Wouldn't you close it after what you stated happens and then the trash is removed? The residents don't have the ability to track whomever handles school grounds, we rely on the BOH to keep us informed via this service.
The area has been cleaned up and will be monitored on a regular basis. Thank you for reporting this. Please let us know if it continues to be a problem.
