Description
Good morning,
I would like to discuss the installation of a guard rail along this stretch of Barker Road that would begin past the electrical pole and end down around the curve. I would also like to discuss a lower speed limit with more signage as well.
We live on this road and have witnessed 5 accidents in the last 3 years where a speeding vehicle hasn't cleared the turn. The speed limit at each end of Barker is 30mph so naturally people average 40-45mph and by the time they reach these curves, they don't have time to slow down. The yellow reduced speed to 20mph signage doesn't make a difference.
I would appreciate any help with this issue.

After reviewing this area, I don't think guardrail would be the best application here. Guardrail is typically used when vehicles leaving the roadway would cause more of a hazard than remaining on the roadway. I don't think that's the case here.
However, I do think increased signage is appropriate here. We will look at beefing up the signage, including several series of chevrons around the curves. That should provide more information to drivers and help keep them on the roadway.
