Resident called saying she needs an engineer to come out and take look at how much water is coming onto her property. She's lost 2 trees because of excessive erosion due to water traveling to her her property in excess. She said it's a private lot and we would need to arrange a time to meet with her because there is no public access.

After phone call and field visit with property owner, two main concerns were presented by her.
1) Flow from drainage improvement built around 1999 by City is causing soils around redwoods on her property to loosen, putting them at risk for collapse.
2) Resident had subdivided property and had been told that she could develop on it so she is wondering what it would take to build on this parcel despite the runoff going thru it.
After researching planset from 1998 for the City's drainage improvement project, it was found that the project only replaced the already existing 12-inch corrugated metal drainage pipe with a 12-inch PVC pipe and added a grated inlet. The drainage area contributing flows to this drainage system is 3.6 acres and had not been increased by the improvement project therefore the total possible volume of storm runoff had remain unchanged.
Had a phone call with the resident to discuss and mailed a copy of the planset and map of the drainage area. Additionally, contact information for the City's Planning department was provided so that she could inquire about how to build on her property.
