There is all kinds of GARBAGE that's been dumped on the edge of the Rubber Mill Pond. It looks terrible, attracts, creatures, and can't be very safe. It's been there for a long time and needs to be cleaned up!!!

That whole brook needs to be cleaned up. There is an old hockey net setup in the pond that has been there two or more years. Someone did not take it down before the ice melted, and now it is in the water.
Many of the homes on the water are in a state of disrepair. This is an eyesore for the entire neighborhood.

There is so much sediment, in this once beautiful waterway, that ducks and geese can "walk on water". The sediment is from construction (date unknown) up stream that was not properly screened.
A trampoline blew into the pond a few YEARS ago. The owner has not gone into retrieve it and it hasn't sunk or moved because of the sediment build up.
The director of public works was contacted regarding the sediment issue in 2011, but without a response or direction on how to handle it and the pollutants impacting this hidden natural habitat.
There are beavers upstream, a variety of ducks, Canadian geese, a pair of swans have returned already this year, a white heron and a blue heron visit from time to time. The duckling and goslings quickly disappear as the to- close- to- the- surface overpopulation of snapping turtles are quick to prey on them.
Whatever fish were in Rubber Mill Pond do not grow past the fry stage because the water is not deep enough and there air flow isn't enough to support the once ample pan fish population.
The only things that grow on this pond are water lilies (they need to be weeded out somehow), more sediment buildup and surface pollution.
There are homes around the Rubber Mill Pond and along the stream in either direction. Some neighbors keep their backyards along the Pond's edge clean, neat and cohabit well the animals/fish that make their homes there. Others use the land that extends from their backyard to the Pond's edge as a private dumping ground. Maybe they don't realize the neighbors on the opposite side can see the litter; some of which ends up on the Pond and adds to the problem at hand.
It would be amazing for Rubber Mill Pond to restored to it original health, or close to it, with a fluid water flow and a sanctuary for fish, fowl and water animals and pollution free.
