Description
Learned at the Hazardous Waste pickup that sharps (i.e. needles) can not be dropped off at Hazardous Waste Days but must be placed in a sealed container and delivered either to the Police Department or the Windsor Street Health Center. Couldn't a police officer be assigned to collect sharps at Hazardous Waste Days? It would eliminate a second trip for some and keep others from tossing sharps in the trash.

Hi Michael, sorry you learned that after visiting the HHW event. However, we advertise that syringes go to the CPD or Health Dept in our Get Rid of It Right tool: https://www.cambridgema.gov/Services/CurbsideCollections#!rc-page=253187.
Furthermore, it says that syringes are not accepted on the hazardous waste page: https://www.cambridgema.gov/Services/householdhazardouswastedisposal
Sorry for the inconvenience. However, the option to use CPD or Windsor St location is better because their open hours are much better than the hazardous waste event.
