Please fix! Is extremely dangerous. We can’t have people getting injured from tripping over it!

Send a letter notifying the City of the defect. Best to do it by certified mail and keep a copy with the certification number. That formally puts the City on notice of the defect. They have a limited period of time within which to repair the defect and if they don't the City will have liability for any injuries caused by the defect.
