This landlord allow tenants to storage there stuff in hallway and to top it off right by the roof and hallway. When inspectors come they take it out and put it back. City has requested for him to fix bells you have to go downstairs to see who it is can’t ring them in or intercom don’t work. First door lock is so hard to open because it’s no longer good. The tenants in apt 23 has built a room in the living room he knows and annoy it. He did a board heater job in apartment 12 and it’s connected to the basement they added pipe and connected to there light which it’s was done by a unlicensed person. No one else has those heaters because the apartments are heat and hot water included. The building has cracks in the hallway because we belief the building is sinking in but City has annoy our request. So now the landlord is covering it up with wood. They have unlicensed people doing construction work after 6pm. We have reported crack on the outside of the building on the brick all around certain areas where they have put silicone to cover it up. The canopy glass on the roof when it rain it leak into the building and the wall it’s bubble up. To top all this up we heard from a old tenant who longer live here was present said that this building was jack up because there a beam right by the stair going into the basement from outside through the front cellar that was crack they put a temporary beam. There are also a pile of bricks right through that gate in the basement you would see. Landlord every three month is measuring the roof to see how much the building is sinking. City or state inspectors come here they don’t go to every apartment because the landlord make excuses saying they have covid or they not home or etc. They only enter the apartment that are in good condition. Also inspectors come a second time pass him even though job is not done correctly because he promise them he will correct it never does. There is so much garbage in the basement that it’s a fire hazard. The garbage alley way is full of stuff and never kept clean. The basement gets flood even when is no rain and i belief the foundation it getting worst. The garbage cans don’t have lids to keep rodents away. The fire escapes look dangerous and unsafe. All these things been reported so many time to city and state and no one does anything to this landlord. If anything ever happened to these tenants the city and state is accountable. Wife and daughter DOES NOT allow him to fix the apartment of the tenants that been here more than 10 years because they chasing them out so they can rent them for more. Some of the people are immigrants and Spanish are scare of them so they repair there own apartment. Some just get tired of waiting. Wife and daughter do the paper for increase of rent he sign them and don’t revise it THEY TRY to get over on the tenants here and increase last year almost 6-8% rent. There is group of us that know better so we stick together. Our City and State need to do better because when a tragic happens here it going to be too late. Please open your eye human life is precious and a lot of us don’t move because can’t afford to.
