First it is not my fence, 1405 Boswell. Second my neighbors need to be more neighborly and ask the owner before posting nonsense like this. My neighbor did and does have a permit, he followed the limits of the permit.

Its my fence at 1911 sw 14th st. Feel free to knock on the door and ask if you have a question. I'm a pretty reasonable person. Theres is a permit on file to whom it may concern. I do also have the right to enjoy my property in its entirety as I see fit just like you do. Sorry for the inconvenience.

I realize my own ID is not congruent with what I’m about to say, but I leave it that way for fear of the backlash. Thank you to both of these users for not being afraid to say what needs to be said in this neighborhood. Why are there so many “neighbors” so concerned with what everyone else is doing yet hiding behind their computer and making a bunch of unnecessary reports?

They have nothing else better to do. We have people that drive through our neighborhood that do not live here taking pictures and reporting people. It is pretty pitiful when you have nothing else better to do.

I agree with you 100%. Maybe I have false hope but it seems like the city is getting to these nonsense nosy neighbor complaints quicker and just shutting it down. Spending time on safety complaints and such which is what the site was designed for and the best use of the city employees time and attention. They think they are saving the neighborhood but in reality taking away valuable time and budgeted money and hours.

These accusatory responses are EXACTLY why the anonymous platform is best to reduce neighbors getting mad at a simple check on a fence permit. No one is above the law and inquires are NOT ILLEGAL. I think we just learned that in Marion KS didn't we? Public info is the public's right.

Not trying to add fuel to a fire here. But as I see it, it was legitimate, asking if there was a permit and it it met code standards ( I just went through the permitting process and had a fence built, the city was great in helping). My point is that I don't see any malice or ill will behind the complaint. yes, they could have just came up to the door and asked about it but maybe they just didn't feel comfortable or didn't want to be rude ( personally, I don't like unexpected visitors )
