My Rotary Club of Fountain Inn has adopted a part of S. Nelson Drive. We pick up trash quarterly based on Palmetto Pride suggested dates. Two (2) problems we run into:
1. SCDOT? too many times cuts the weeds along our section prior to our club picking up trash. One piece of trash turns into many pieces of trash after going through the bush-hog. 2. The two - three industries located on S. Nelson are the main reason we adopted this stretch. Shift workers, truckers and plain individuals throw their stuff out the car windows all up and down S. Nelson Drive.
One thing for sure, it keeps our club on its toes every quarter of the year trying to keep it cleaned up.
