Well if this is true @thecity then why haven't anyone came to remove snow on chapel st which isa very busy area all the way down to the Blvd

I do see more complete and thorough plowing this year, but it is still indisputable that snow removal has been inconsistent.

Is it really impossible to come up with a plan that works? I can't fix all the problems, but I have lived other places, and I know it can be done better.

Some suggestions: Earlier start on snow removal, establishment of alternate-side plan to plow BOTH sides of the street, prompt REMOVAL of large amounts of snow to avoid huge snowbanks and narrowing of the street, consistent and logical enforcement of parking regulations, with a priority system (ticket/tow cars obstructing plowing FIRST, leave off ticketing of cars that parked back on streets that were already cleared until later), real-time, accurate updating of parking information on the website, reasonable lead-time on warnings for additional plowing (especially when it comes weeks after the snow storm), prior enforcement of parking restrictions in residential zones (we only get enforcement in zone 7 when three neighborhood residents request it).

The snow removal is too little too late and a waste of money at this point because it is so frozen they can't do anything correctly . Removal should be accomplished in the first couple days after the storm.

Due to the terrible snow removal job on Whitney Avenue along the stretch that you describe, a car was forced off the road, into the telephone pole in front of St. Thomas Church on the corner of Cliff St. and flipped on its side. My husband ran from our house and pulled the woman out of her vehicle. The right lane ends abuptly and cars are forced to stop short or veer quickly into the left lane if they don't know this lane is ending due to snow/ice accumulation. Our entire neighborhood is a mess with huge ice shelves upon which we are foced to park on Cliff and Burns Streets. Now that it's all ice, nothing can really be done. I know these plow drivers are working long hours but more of a strategy needs to be in place for actual clearing to ensure safety.

Hear Hear! If the city cannot properly plow this main thoroughfare, they should contract with someone who can. It's going on three weeks now in this condition. Completely unacceptable.
