Description
I'm not a city official nor am I associated with a non-profit. I am just a long time local resident.
The question that was submitted earlier today that is highlighted in purple above is very thought provoking and deserves a response.
I read somewhere that Folsom allocates approximately $900,000 to indirectly assist with homelessness in the community.
Folsom is also in the process of identifying areas to increase housing capacity for multi-family and affordable developments (apartments and duplexes).
The proposed increases will be considered in three targeted areas:
The East Bidwell Corridor.
Transit priority areas near the Glenn and Iron Point light rail stations.
The Folsom Plan Area, particularly the Folsom Town Center (Lowes, Les Schwab).
Are not the 3 proposed targeted areas where most of the complaints are originating from?

People visiting the Rodeo Park give this location a wide berth. Park maintenance workers cleaning the area keep their distance while maintaining a weary eye on this group.
Their are camping tents on two different sides of the Zoo.
Several groups are camping in the Rodeo Parking lot next to the restrooms and ball field dugouts.

Not enough of that money is being used to clean up the mess and junk/litter left behind by vagrants left behind after they move on. Folsom needs a rapid response team to swoop in and quickly clean up campsites and spots where transients hang out when they leave.
Tent encampments are already set up on sidewalks, parks, and other public spaces throughout the Central District. Not much being done about this. Not surprising though because, well, it’s the Central District after all. (Sarcasm.)
