MN DOT created a 4 way lighted intersection here because of the sprawl growth, but instead of biting the bullet and building a bridge (more sensible given the growth in the area in the long run) they instead simply created a massive lighted intersection that slows everyone down daily. This is just a rehashing of the same problem that was created at English St./36, McKnight/36, and other areas...but it is especially bad here because the speed limit is 65 mph, and vehicles have to slow down quickly for the light. MN DOT has corrected McKnight and is going to correct English St., why not just do the smart thing and do the same here now, instead of allowing it to become a bigger problem? It will be more expensive to fix in the future.
