Description
Boston has a great idea by making some streets one way because of the snow. Can we do that here too? We constantly have cars coming over the hill in both directions with no where to pull over. Today we had a fire engine coming up from Crescent and a plow coming from Eastern on to meet in front of my house. The plow had to back all the way back down to Eastern Ave. This is not safe at all. All the surrounding streets are in the same situation.

Danielle,
With the historic snows, it bears repeating that the City is doing the best that it can with so many challenges. However, to your question, you may have seen that a temporary one-way system began yesterday on selected streets--and there are already complaints about that. In any event, here's how it is stands per Chelsea Police:
"City of Chelsea To Temporarily Convert Several Streets to One Way
Due to the enormous amount of snow received over the past several weeks, the City will temporarily convert the following streets into one ways for public safety reasons. These changes will become effective on February 18th, 2015 at 3:30 PM and will end on March 31st, 2015. Additional streets may be added to this list in the future if it is deemed necessary. The public is requested to observe all posted traffic signage to ensure safe travel within the city.
