The silt fencing is properly trenched for about 20 ft and then is not properly installed. It is likely that sediment and/or turbid water makes its way to the not properly installed section and then to the river. Straw blankets are the appropriate measure for that slope; however, they are not properly installed. Straw blankets are most effective when installed along the slope and not against the slope. I will email Mr. Baker with these comments.
