Bridge on Micala Drive has been down to 1 lane for 2 years. One side of road over bridge is caved in, but has yet to be replaced. Contacted city and county and they said that they cant get the permits to fix the road.

This is the email I received.
Thanks for your concern regarding the one lane closure on Micala Drive. Lexington County Public Works implemented the lane closure to assure the safety of the traveling public. On May 29th, the drainage system in place failed and caused water to overtop the road and drain down the embankment face. As a result severe undermining of the travel lane occurred. Upon inspection, it was determined that a “quick fix” would not resolve the problem. Instead a rebuild of the dam face would be needed. Since this is a privately held dam (personal property) we have had to obtain necessary easements in order to access the property. Secondly, the area was inspected by the Army Corps of Engineers and was found to require a jurisdictional wetlands permit (this permit request remains outstanding). Finally a soil investigation and subsequent slope stability design is underway. All of this work is ongoing; however, it takes time and is being worked in amongst other projects.
We appreciate your concern and can assure that you are “not paying taxes for someone to sit around and not correct the problems with the county”. If you additional concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me.

I received an email yesterday from the Public Works.
An update. We are in process of getting the army corps permit. Design is completed. Property has been acquired.
Will schedule as soon as permit is in place.
