Description
Communication re parking ban hard to follow. I parked at Temple St garage this morning bc city website stated parking ban until noon. I was charged $8 for two hours - instead of$3/day ban rate. SeeClickFix says ban was lifted at 6am. Attendant said parking ban was on until 12 but ended at garage at 7 (?). $5 overcharge is irritating but more irritating is just not being able to understand city plan. If they want folks off the streets to plow, they need to offer affordable parking.

The text in quotes was the information in the notice on See Click Fix regarding the parking bans and garage parking. An updated notice has since replaced this one, letting the public know the citywide ban has now been lifted as well as provide additional information on how to stay informed and up to date on any future snowfalls.
"The citywide parking ban remains in effect until further notice to allow snow plows better access to clean our streets. The ban will be lifted in the Downtown ONLY at 6am Tuesday, this means:
Do NOT park on BOTH sides of the street on all posted snow routes
Do NOT park on the ODD side of the street on all other streets citywide; Please park on the EVEN side ONLY on these streets.
As of 6am on Tuesday, Downtown is re-open for parking on both sides of the street. Please keep an eye out for paper postings for "NO PARKING" Tuesday and Wednesday evening, in preparation for snow removal operations.
If you have parked in a school parking lot during the parking ban, an announcement will be made on school tomorrow morning at 5:30 (see below). Please assist us by removing your cars before the start of school when it reopens.
In coordination with downtown ban being removed Tuesday morning, please remove your cars from the Temple Street Garage, Granite Square Garage, and Science Park Garages by 7am on Tuesday in anticipation for folks returning to work"
