Public Works was on site this morning to investigate the cause of the issue.
A pedestrian signal switch at the intersection was malfunctioning and was causing the signals to trigger every 25 seconds as if a high volume of pedestrians were present and pressing the button to cross the street. The faulty equipment is being replaced today.
Approximately two weeks prior to this incident, there was an issue at this same intersection in which a short in some wiring caused an error in the signal timing.
