Yes I agree on that Matt. Then the city could save the $21.00 an hour, they are paying those folks in codes, Get an outside company to do the same job for half the price and maybe even do it better!
The sad part is a friend of mine wants to buy that house, he has the cash to pay for it and rehab it and he knows how to do the work. AND he is not a slumlord. I guess it will just sit until God forbid one of the people squatting in there sets some trash on fire to keep warm. Then it will become important!

That's a whole different subject, that was mentioned when they did the article in DLN on Lipkins closing.
That's going to be a LOT of people compacted into that one building, it will probably become a nuisance in time if it becomes apts.

That house is easy to see. even with the high trees, go have lunch at Little Chef, sit on the alley side and look out the window, how can you miss it?? You can't tell me that folks from city hall don't eat lunch at Little Chef because I heve seen their cars in there at lunch time, so they DID see the house before, probably even talked about it over lunch. And that was as far as it went.

just the facts- nosey and negative are two different things...besides which I grew up in coatesville , so I have just as much right as anyone else ...besides which, I used to sit in the Chef and look out the windows at that old house and surrounding property....

Fire everyone in city hall and start over. There is no other option. Money, politics, and relationships are killing this city.

House is still vacant and sort of boarded up. I heard a tree recently fell over from the property into the gas station during the recent ice storm. Wonder who paid to clean that up? I did hear a few months ago that the city was closer to taking the house over, it is historic.

That house is registered historic. Efforts are underway to have it preserved. The Coatesville Historical Commission would have more information.

If you see people entering the home illegally, please call the police!
