Speeding continues on Farmingville and Blackman Roads. The streets have no sufficient lights and no sidewalks. Evening hours and morning hours when people jog and walk on the streets are dangerous. Perhaps the town could invest in putting a sidewalk along Farmingville for the community.

Roads are most DEFINITELY not "made for autos" or "belong to cars". The roads existed long before the automobile was even a gleam in Henry Ford's eye. Pedestrians and cyclists have every right to travel along a road, as guaranteed by CT state law Chapter 249, Sec. 14-300c, even where no sidewalk exists.
As for adding sidewalks along Farmingville, while I agree that they would be very useful, because the road passes through protected wetlands (the Great Swamp), it would be nearly impossble to obtain the state's permission to build.
Personally, I admire those who hike up Farmingville to get their groceries, or who jog for their health along High Ridge Ave. It's becoming clear that the bloggers who state here that "roads belong to cars" and such are likely the same ones who speed on Farmingville Rd, High Ridge Ave, etc. How about showing those folks legally walking, biking or jogging on town roads a little courtesy?
