Description
Being disabled I spend a lot of time confined to a chair which has a window that has a view of the intersection of 4th and Warren streets. In 13 3/4 hours over a period of 7 days I have observed (and kept track on paper) 72 vehicles fail to stop for the stop sign (including 7 at a very high rate of speed and 2 school buses) even when the children are going to and returning from the school one street away. I have complained to "local authorities" to no avail.

The city doesn't care, heck I almost been hit 3 times in the course of 7 years by a Police Cruiser not stopping for a Pedestrian in a Crosswalk. I see them swing right hand turns at red lights without looking, run stop signs etc. I don't intentionally commit traffic violations but the day Bangor PD pulls me over for something like that, I am going to have a field day with them in court. Everyone gets to run stop signs from buses to cops to local businesses.
If the School busses are part of the Cyr bus service, I had a problem with a bus failing to engage in any yellow or red lights to turn around a couple years back right in front of me, the bus had almost hit me, the driver didn't care. I sent an email to Cyr via their website and got a response back to call a person in Old Town to report the issue and then was asked to reply to the email to make sure I was able to reach the individual. They took my complaint, apologized and said they would look into it, they seemed to have taken the safety seriously and if you had not tried already I would get a hold of Cyr bus service. I noted the times, and the bus numbers and even told them in my case children were on board when the driver yanked the bus right in front of my car.
