Here is an email I just sent to the Buckingham Pond Conservancy: I was just told by DGS via ClickFix that your organization, The Buckingham Pond Conservancy, requested a Porta Potty "NOT be placed in the only viable space" at the park.
It's a sad commentary that your organization would rather have children and adults urinating and defecating in public (mostly behind the DGS utility shed) leaving tissues and toilet paper strewn about then have a suitable and tasteful Porta Potty placed discreetly in an out-of-the-way spot at the park.
I am a senior citizen and Army Veteran who enjoys walking around the pond. I have health problems which make me sometimes need a nearby bathroom facility right away so I'm forced to interrupt my walks and race home in my car. I also spend a lot of time on my pond walks picking up trash trying to help make this beautiful and scenic park a better place for everyone.
So the next time you see a father trying to block his son from view while he is forced to pee in the woods, think hard about your decision to not allow a Porta Potty.

In this instance, DGS has to use some sound reasoning! They built a playground, kids and parents are going to be there for an extended period. There has to be a bathroom. Unless of course the point is to exclude anybody who doesn’t live within a two minute walk of the playground, and then I have to wonder why we would be so hostile to visitors?
