Q. The City of Allen Park/Downriver Central Animal Control does not handle rat/rodent issues -- unless a code violation is causing a Rat issue as described below, 1 through 7.
(1) Trash can without lid.
(2) Grass taller than 6 inches/bushes untrimmed at the ground level.
(3) Ground Feeding. (only bird feeders at least 48" off the ground are allowed)
(4) Dog waste umaintained--cleanup neglect.
(5) Piles of wood on the ground--creating harborage.
(6) Yard furniture or debris that rats could use as a home (harborage).
(7) Pet food not properly stored, making it easily accessed by rodents.

Code Enforcement does not work in the evening. No answer when I knocked on the door.
I posted a copy of the ground feeding ordinance on the side door.
