Description
Wednesday 26 November 2014 at approx. 6:35 PM: the second of two snow plows working together knocked over (to an angle of approx. 30 degrees above the horizontal) my mailbox and supporting post, which, as a unit, had been installed several years ago according to USPS specifications and has withstood plowing in past conditions with worse visibility. I would think that any DPW driver operating more than a few times on Hopkinton Road would be aware of the location of this mailbox; the DPW even relocated it when repairing a water main break in front of my property. From my living room window, I saw the incident as it occurred: I believe that the plow driver was operating at excessive speed for safely plowing the heavy wet slushy snow. To avoid interruption of my mail delivery, please examine the damage, discuss with me, and effect repair immediately. Thank you.
