Description
The traffic back up at this intersection is crazy! Some days it reaches back to Rivercrest Development. Well past Lape Road. The light at 236 and Guideboard is not long enough entering Halfmoon from Waterford.

Like many intersections on the highway system in the area, a traffic signal is sometimes seen as a panacea. Often, it is necessary to widen the approaches to the intersection to permit a left turn lane and the appropriate phasing. This however is time consuming and expensive often requiring right-of-way takings.
This problem will be compounded in the future in this area with the growth of residential development in the Town of Halfmoon east of US 9, with the concentration of commercial development along US 9.
This intersection is the intersection of a Saratoga County road with a State highway. I suggest that you contact those agencies directly with your concerns.
