Descrizione
Drivers routinely ignore "do not turn on red" sign and turn right onto the bridge with a red arrow light on jeopardizing pedestrians and bicyclists who are trying to cross the intersection at Kelly Drive and the bridge. Occasionally a police officer may be standing nearby and no driver is ever stopped for this traffic violation.

This problem may be caused by the contour of the road. As a person is driving on Kelly Drive, the "No turn on Red" sign is obscured by the way the road goes uphill to approach the intersection and downhill on the other side of the intersection (the sign is located on the side of the street opposite to where people make a right turn).
A simple solution to this problem would be to add a "No Turn on Red" sign to the side of the road that drivers pass as they approach the intersection before they make the right turn onto Falls Bridge.

I pass this intersection 2x / day and most days I see drivers ignoring the red-light... and pedestrians who fail to press the button for the walk signal.
It would be helpful if traffic engineering changed the signal for the right hand turn on the bridge so that a walk signal is presented without regard to a pedestrian or cyclist pressing the button. some drivers may expect to see a green signal and ignore the red when the walk is in effect.

this is still a major concern. i contacted penndot at the number below and they said this is a city issue. they do not deal with enforcement on kelly drive nor will they look at the intersection design as this is also a city issue.
i'm frankly tired of nearly being run over every day here. this has to stop.
