There seems to be a great deal of misunderstanding about how city street parking works. As long as a person is not actually blocking a driveway directly, they are legally parked. If you are unable to back out of a driveway with a car parked across the street, then you should reconsider whether you are capable of driving at all.

Furthermore, as pointed out, this opening does not lead to a driveway at all. What is inconsiderate is a bunch of busybody neighbors with nothing better to do than harass others for parking legally.

Actually, this IS a driveway and the only driveway space for this home which is the "yard space" as you call it. I agree, SOME PEOPLE need to mind their own business especially when you don't know what you're talking about. Seeing as how this IS MY BUSINESS, I'm the only one concerned here.

Yet another person who doesn't know what they're talking about. And no, it's not ONE CAR. It's several that continually block this driveway. All driveways aren't paved for filled with gravel.

DoWhat'sRight, you have posted some valid issues in the past, but I do not believe this is a problem. Your venom would be better served directed at more worthy causes and people who truly deserve it.

This is NOT a driveway. Nor has it ever been in the 3 years that I have lived in this neighborhood. Were it an actual driveway the police would have ticketed the car. This neighborhood has been one of the most unfriendly places I have ever lived in my life. And people like you, who feel the need to put their nose in everyone else's business, and not bother to tend their own are the biggest problem Furthermore, any coward who can't approach a neighbor rather than call the police is not much of neighbor. We have minded our own business, attempted to be friendly, been quiet, and caused no harm. If you care to improve your neighborhood, I would suggest you start by looking in a mirror.

And, I am QUITE concerned here. The very legally parked car belongs to a guest at my home. Please explain exactly how YOU are concerned, other than being completely nosy.

Because it belongs to a friend who I've tried to help load & unload large heavy furniture & haven't been able to pull a truck & trailer into the yard because the driveway is blocked nor could I just merely pull up in front of the home with all of the other vehicles parked directly in front. Since that IS the driveway for this home (whether used as one regularly or not) is beside the point.

1. It is not a legal driveway. End of discussion. That fact has been established by the policeman being unable to ticket the car. Nor, despite your claims, has it EVER been used as such in the over three years I have lived here. 2. Your "friend" is the person who called the police some months ago about a car parked in front of her house because it made her "nervous." The policeman very politely and quite apologetically approached us and asked if we would consider moving the car because she had a history of badgering them, and if we would move the car it would, and I quote "get her off my back." We did so out of respect for the policeman and the way HE handled the situation. Trust that we won't be bothered to do so again. When one lives in the city, on a street that has parking, one has no claim to any portion of the street, be it in front of ones house, across the street, or in front of a non legal driveway. If one can't accept this fact, and certainly if one hasn't the COMMON COURTESY to discuss such things with a neighbor, then one should consider a move elsewhere. We and our guests will park in any legal space on this street that suits us. Had this been approached properly there could have been a discussion and perhaps a resolution, but your cowardly anonymous approach, and calling the police, who readily made our case for us, has rendered that possibility void. I consequently suggest you find something else to whine about.

Actually, when my friend called some months ago it wasn't because it made "her nervous" but because the large handicapped van that had to pull in at such a way to pick her up and drop her off while she was IN A WHEELCHAIR could not do so with your visitors parked at her front doorstep. I certainly am happy that I live in neighborhood where neighbors aren't rude and inconsiderate like my friend does. And you're right, it IS a horrible neighborhood ... certainly NOTHING like it used to be! Must be all the new "trash" living there.

Sorry fact that you're the new trash hurt your feelings. Truth usually does hurt. This is my business because it's my friend. And when I visit I park where I'm going and not elsewhere. Especially when that's the only house without a proper driveway. And the one here in question is very inconvenient for someone who now has a disability.

Tell your friend their cinder block fire pit in their "drive way" is ready nice. Hope they get yard of the month.

For the record Marilyn and Paul are not the same person. Since the photo above is of my car I figured I would address this. 1. If you noticed when you looked at the car there is a handicap sticker on display. I need to be able to park as close to my friends place as possible. 2. As you said it is not illegal so shut it. 3. If you don't want someone else parking there then park there yourself.

I agree. Rude neighbors, inconsiderate neighbors ... those are people others tend NOT to care to know. And because someone doesn't go out looking for who the idiot is driving the vehicles doesn't make them cowards. "Attempted to be friendly" doesn't mean continually having friends/visitors park at someone else's front door step.
