Description
A sign is needed for the traffic light at intersection of Guilford Road and Cedar Lane. Two lanes are available to turn left off of Guilford Road onto Cedar Lane. Almost every time I am at this intersection, the cars in the left turn lane immediately begin merging into the right lane of Cedar Lane to take the Route 32 EAST ramp. They have no regard for the cars who were in the right lane turning onto Cedar Lane. I have had to blow my horn and slam on my brakes at least once a week to avoid a collision.
A sign should be placed next to the traffic lights that states Route 32 East from right turn lane ONLY. Thank you!!!

Thank you for your enquiry. As you may have already noticed, there are existing overhead lane control signs mounted to the signal arm delineating the dual left turn movement from eastbound Guilford Rd onto northbound Sanner Rd. In addition, there are existing pavement marking symbols to further guide these left turn movements.
Additional signing guidance for left turn movement onto a ramp entrance are typically reserved for closely spaced interchange to a signal with a lane that drops/or forces vehicles to the ramp entrance. In this case, the interchange is sufficiently spaced away from the signal location and an auxiliary/third lane is provided to enter the MD 32 EB ramp.
Please let us know if there’s a specific time or timeframe of day that you witness the issue and we would be glad to perform some observations and let you know what we find.
