Loud banging and crashing of loader located in middle of Prestige Scrap & Metal scrap yard. Crashing, banging of metal and high pitch whining noise from grapple crane could be heard across adjacent residential property. Noise lasted for several hours and stopped at 5:05pm.

If the problem is noise and you believe the noise is above that which is allowed by the noise ordinance, please contact police dispatch at 713-884-3131.
Under Section 30-2 of the Code of Ordinances, it is unlawful for any person to cause any sound to be made that unreasonably disturbs others. Factors to be taken into consideration are listed, such as time of day, whether the noise is constant, etc.
Under Section 30-9, it is a defense if the sound is produced by:
Construction
Lawn Equipment - residential (7:00 AM - 8:00 PM)
Power Tools - residential (7:00 AM - 8:00 PM),
Aircraft Activities in a public place,
Stadium Events,
Parade Spectators of an event,
Authorized Emergency Vehicle,
Church Bells or Chimes when used as part of a religious observation/service.
