The City of Oakland Public Works Department has received this issue. It is registered as service request # 545325. Please check back for status updates or contact us directly at (510) 615-5566.
hopefully, this will not go like the matter on Stone, which we dubbed "Dead Dog Lane" after a month passed by with no resolution - eventually this became the location of the "Garbage boat" and other debris fields that apparently resulted in the firestorm back in August that blew the underground gas lines and took out a derelict building... http://seeclickfix.com/issues/867992-dead-dog-rip-rotting-over-a-month-atop-toxic-materials-really
Is the above "robo-post" of contact numbers to say that the City will NOT refer See Click Fix to the appropriate department, therefore, making it less complicated on citizens? This "robopost" implies that you are handing this ( Vector control), yet goes on to suggest that in the other matters, posting here would be a waste of time. TRUE OR FALSE?
Please clarify the official City position on how use the City uses See Click Fix system and what citizen expectations should be.
We all realize that for reasons that are WRONG the City staff is not allowed to communicate directly with its citizens. However, improving the information you provide, thus training your citizen "eyes and ears" will improve results and reduce cost - isn't that what you what???
So how about it - write some guidance and start "Robo-posting" once the manager of the manager of the manager etc approves it.
I am not sure if SCF reports these issues to animal control. I do no that the past four time I have called and emailed animal control none of the dead animal were picked up. They were simply allowed to decompose. I have found no way contact animal control to talk to a person other than going to the office. Time to take OPD out of animal control.
