Essex is a through-street. There is no way the city will ever entertain the thought of breaking up traffic here. There simply isn't enough traffic coming from Grandview and turning left onto Essex, nor enough traffic on Essex at this intersection, to warrant a stop sign.
Hmm well i sat on Grandview Ave. for a good 10 minutes while I watched traffic on Essex St.go by some cars at more then the posted 25mph,while i sat patiently to take a left onto Essex the cars just kept on coming, what's wrong with 3 little stop signs,i think it would slow traffic down a bit for those coming up Essex from Pushaw and give those folks trying to get out from grandview a little break,it only takes less then a minute to stop a car
I live on the corner of Grandview and Essex. To me the problem is speeding not the lack of a stop stop sign. People do dirve way to fast on Essex St. But they drive to fast up Granview as well. I drive this every day and have never sat on Grandview for more then 30 seconds. If you put a stop sign there you will have massive amounts of backed up traffic. And the poor guy who lives on the corner will never be able to get out.
People don't obey stop signs in Bangor half the time due to lack of enforcement, especially on side roads, you think there is problems now, add a 3 way stop and see what happens....
