Description

For pedestrians in our neighborhood, crossing Northfield Blvd. on foot is a dangerous proposition. Cars speed by at all hours and do not stop at the crosswalks, so one must jaywalk and wait in the median to fully cross the street. I see families with small children walking across the dangerous street every day. Personally, I am an avid bicyclist and ride my bike to work a few days a week, and the only dangerous part of my commute is leaving Haynes Manor apartments and crossing Northfield. We need a light or signal to help pedestrians and bicyclists cross our street without fear of being struck by a motorist.
