Description

The handling of road closures this past weekend around the Puerto Rican festival was abysmal.
There were no signs alerting area residents to the upcoming closures. During the event there were no signs indicating why the road was closed or for how long. On Saturday, there were two officers at the corner of Sigourney and Glen, just chatting, providing no public service. At Forest Hill St and Glen, the beginning of the closure where an officer would have actually been useful, there was no one, just sawhorses.
I asked an officer posted at Sigourney and Peter Parley why the road was closed, and instead of politely explaining it he instead complained about how citizens were giving him a hard time about it. I simply was curious what was happening and instead he felt the need to vent about how taxpayers were making his job unpleasant.
