There are no sidewalks or shoulders for pedestrians and bicycles on Chase near Kellog Dr. Very dangerous riding a bike at night time and no room to ride without pulling over and stopping when cars coming both ways.

Thanks for Reporting!
A few months ago a resident approached me about the lack of a sidewalk between a developed area on Chase, West of Kellogg and Garretson. I'm proud to say the Public Works team went to work and applied for a Active Transportation Grant to help closed this gap and several other area around the city.. Read below for more details
Active Transportation Program
"On June 15th, the Public Works Department successfully submitted two grant applications for the Caltrans Active Transportation Program (ATP). The ATP is a competitive statewide program created to encourage increased use of active modes of transportation, such as biking and walking. The City has a continual need to complete the sidewalk infrastructure throughout Corona, and grant funding was requested to construct sidewalk gap closure projects at the following three locations: 1) Chase Dr., west of Kellogg Ave.; 2) Ford St., west of Rimpau Ave.; and 3) El Sobrante Rd., north of Magnolia Ave. A separate grant application was also submitted to update the City’s Bicycle Master Plan, which was published in 2001. There is $650 million in funding available for this competitive grant, with 428 applications submitted statewide. With this year’s new requirement to submit all forms electronically, the application submittal process was challenging to say the least. Public Works would like to thank our Streets/Roadway Engineering Team for their hard work in drafting and submitting these comprehensive grant packages."
