I just witness two White females dumping multiple items including a mattress in the same location Oakland Public Works had cleaned up within the past day. When I asked them to stop the illegal dumping, they were very combative and even had the nerves to tell me why should I care. The vehicle observed was a Dark Green Toyota Truck with a Tennessee license plate number reading H61-57K. It was clear from this experience that these two individuals had no vested interest in our community whatsoever. No remorse, no compassion...

Thank you for your efforts to educate and then obtaining license plate numbers when that didn't work. Unfortunately, who knows if they even own that particular vehicle. It's a valiant effort on the city's part to up the fines but I wonder what the stats are on 1) fine ratio to actual incidence 2) ratio of fines assessed to that actually collected.
The larger social and economic issues remain unabated.
