Description
White fiberglas signs 9"X12" have been posted on the utility poles and traffic standards not only at Germantown & Chelten Ave but at just about every intersection in the Northwest. The sign poster has graciously provided a phone number: 267-229-1970 in bold 2" high purple numbers. The sign reads:"JUNK CARS $250 CASH PAID. This onslaught of unsightly street spam is relentless.

If you see this sign in other locations, please report it to BANDITPROJECT.ORG
Here is the sign report for the JUNK CARS sign. We have taken down HUNDREDS of these in Northeast Philadelphia and Kensington:

Please help us with reporting the signs if you see any more of them. It does not matter if the sign is left up or torn down---we want the locations. This one is a HEAVY HITTER and we want to trace down the owner of this sign so we can report him to L&I / Streets and the Philadelphia Controller's Office.

@traindude: If you take them down or leave them up, either way, please report them to BanditProject.org
Yes I also take them down and occasionally I do roundups taking them down in LARGE AMOUNTS. There are also volunteers ripping signs down by the hundreds. There are only two people at the Streets Department who are tasked with signage removal and referring to L&I for enforcement. I have help from a very wonderful City Council staffer who is also sick of the signs plaguing her neighborhood, but the amount of signs is crazy---we have to rip them down as soon as they come up and go after the new signs that appear if this problem is to be dealt with. The City of Philadelphia really has to come down on the heavy hitters. The media has been running stories about how the signs are illegal which has helped slow the amount of new signs in some areas. A lot of people still believe these signs are legal and OK to put up. They are not.
