Description
I assume that due to the recent fire the signals are all out of whack, however this traffic signal is a constant blinking red coming from Valley and a constant blinking yellow for those on Blake. This is causing many motorists from Valley St. to have to speed through in order to get through the intersection because of the constant stream of cars traveling on Blake. Now that school is back in session, especially with SCSU, this is going to be even more treacherous.

I also observed the same thing. Calling T & P this morning to get it on their list now that Whalley is reopened. I can't believe there wasn't an officer stationed there as it was constant gridlock with drivers short-cutting through the school and parking lot. It's a miracle there were no accidents or incidents of road rage. I know PD staff is low, but at high peak travel times would have been a prudent move.
Hopefully they won't ever need to close Whalley again, but if they do more thought should go into the detour route and signal timing/officer placement. Would not have been a far cry to have the officer at Whalley walk the 25 feet to Valley intersection. Even if just for visibility.
