Description

The paved sidewalk on the south side of Western Boulevard between Varsity Drive and Dan Allen Drive has branches and leaves growing over it such that bicyclists and scooter drivers have to duck or dismount to traverse the area.

The commuter traffic in this area has dropped with the beginning of the summer, but it will pick back up again in August with the new school year. This sidewalk is an important link between NC State's Remote Lot (on Varsity Drive) and several buildings including Biltmore and Jordan Halls. Please prioritize this work in early August in anticipation for the influx of student and staff commuters using it more then.

At this location, the sidewalk (asphalt, not concrete) is at the toe of the fill slope of Western Boulevard. Though it is a sidewalk, it is not a usual sidewalk configuration. You can not see this location when driving on Western Boulevard. (But we still use it a lot.)
