Can this just be removed? I once asked an original Marshall St. resident if any cars had ever ended up in the creek. Not to his knowledge. The fence prevents easy access to the only open green space in the Marshall St. area.

It's probably to prevent pedestrians from falling in to the creek rather than cars. I'd keep one or two sections around the drainage pipe, but the rest could be removed.

Noted. All I meant was that there was no fence from 1947 until this one was erected, and as far as I know, no mishaps with pedestrians or cars during that period. I'd settle for one or two sections around the culvert, not that that's our decision!

Re: hazards. The clogged stream bed is providing a wonderful breeding ground for mosquitos, who are now carrying chikungunya virus, not usually fatal but nasty, in addition to West Nile and dengue fever. And then there's the poison ivy. . .

This has been referred to Parks & Recreation for review, an update will be posted once we hear back from them.
