For several years now, the Police Department has confiscated several of these bikes and will continue to do so. We appreciate tips from constituents as to where these bikes are housed so we can get them off the streets. As you might be aware, the police can't engage in a chase with these teenagers.

Please know that this is happening in other cities and towns, and the Bridgeport Police Department is collaborating state-wide on how to resolve the issue. One of the focuses is to make it illegal for gas stations to sell gasoline to the drivers of these bikes.

The information was forwarded to the Police Department to the attention of the Lieutenant who handles this issue.
