First of all, we are very grateful for the Michigan Ave. pickelball courts. Much better than a re-lined tennis court. However, although the courts are the proper size, the lines are incorrectly drawn. Pickelball courts have a "no volley zone", commonly called the kitchen. This zone should extend 7' from each side of the net. [Please see the accompanying diagram.] The kitchen lines on the Michigan Ave. courts are approximately ten feet from the net. This difference has a significant impact on the way the game is played. Would it be possible to put down new lines with the proper kitchen dimensions? This would amount to two new lines per court. The existing lines could be left in place. I know this is a minor issue for the city; still I thought I'd bring it to someone's attention. Thanks.
