Description

I began reporting this vacant building in May of 2018. Its been reported for multiple issues which include numerous structural issues, unsecured, garbage streen all through the back and alley way. Theres a drain pipe leading off the roof and out a window draining water onto another property owners garage. Theres a huge hole in the side of the building where animals go in and out. These issues are just a few that have been reported numerous times with little results.

Hello. We understand your frustration. We have cited the owner for all necessary violations and will be sending our case to court in July. We cannot send it sooner due to the enormous back up of codes court due to the pandemic. We have requested DGS secure any opening however they cannot secure any opening above the first floor. My complaints are closed and archived......today is March 29, 2022 and still nothing has been done to this building while others in better condition are being torn down...WHY WHY WHY?????

Quite frankly I feel the city should be required to seize such properties if there is no good reason that the property is in this state. So ridiculous what we have to put up with.

Yes, this structural disaster waiting to happen still sits unattended, and "invisable" to the city and property owner. The pathetic part is the property owner owns a three story occupied apartment building that sits right next to it, minimum is done to that as far as maintenance. The owner I doubt even knows who lives there as so many different people running in and out, he never comes around.

June 16, 2022...this building still sits unattended. So after 2 years of complaints someone comes buy and throws some plywood on the 2 ground level basement windows and the 2 first floor windows, thats it. The side of the building (accessible between the house and neighboring garage)that has open gapping holes all the way through into the interior are still open. The side of building is literally falling down and apart. Guess no one wants to see that. There is garbage and debris from the alley way all the way in the back of the house, large trees are falling down nothing done. MY original complaint started in May of 2018 with multiply ones that followed, this property is structually beyond repair. So why is its allow to sit so long with no consequences from the city??

September 14, the property is in shambles, no one comes near the place, theres no property maintenance or repairs. When it rains the water just pours off the roof down the side of the building, while the whole building deteriorates. What does it take to get some type of results, tired of hearing the property owner has been fined, citated whatever. He obviously doesnt care, why cant the city intervene before the building collapses or even worse someone sets it on fire?

It is now January 19 2023, I have been reporting this property for 5 years and yet there it still sits unattended and falling apart. Not only is it 11 Benjamin st, the same person owned 9 Benjamin st and that has been tagged. There is a serious problem and concerns with regard to animals accessing through holes, mold and other health issues being a possibility, not to mention the obvious visually structurally deterioration. People are running in and out of these buildings through the front and back , putting there own locks on. Who knows whats going on in there. Someone please do something with these properties, neighbors are being harassed by the city for minor code violations but this big one goes un noticed??

April 2023, property still sits unattended and un-acknowledge. People are going in and out the back of this building for who knows what! I feel sympathy for the residents/community that have to live around this hazard. What catastrophe will it take for someone to take notice?

I agree Joan, its pathetic that the residents in the community that do take pride in where they live and take care of thier property have to endure such ignorance. Ripping down deteriorated building all around the neighborhood but yet this structural hazard is ignored with blind eyes. Cant help but to ask why??

I totally agree with everyone. I live next to a business who mows and plows their sidewalk area in my street. Instead of picking up the garbage in the grass they mow it thus shredding all the garbage onto the sidewalk and street. So lazy. And when they plow the sidewalk they push the snow to the end of their property so anyone walking on the rest of the sidewalk have to walk out in the street. Disgusting company. And no one cares

So here it is October 4, 2023 this property or should I say structural disaster has been neglected and abandoned. Not a single person has come near this place no landlord, not the city, no repairs or maintenance. Neighbors are posting murals on the building to avoid looking at this unsightly structure. As shown in a previous picture in this post there's a huge opening in the side of the building, how is this safe? Someone needs to take accountable for this property as its been ignored and pushed aside for far too long!!

Of course it’s an LLC that owns it and could care less about the house or the neighborhood. CEP Enterprises LLC. Should be CRAP Enterprises. Have you checked out the houses on Scott off Krank. All owned by an LLC. Garbage all over the place. Houses are falling apart. No one cares. I don’t see an Albany Officials checking these out. It’s a real disgrace.
