the homeowners should cut the hedge down, or back, to expose the whole sidewalk.

How's about y'all quit complaining, get off your Iphones and knock on the properties' door?
Or do you expect someone else to take care of it for you?
Being part of a neighborhood means being actively INVOLVED .

1. The renters of these apartments are not Yale Grad students but thanks for the stereotypical assumption. We are Pediatric Nurses, architects, psychiatrists and brand managers for a major craft brewery.
2. I tend to the property myself (as a tenant) which includes mowing the lawn (notice how it's not over grown), trimming the trees (notice the nice mulch under the Japanese maple), shoveling EVERY snowstorm before 8am and trimming the hedges.
3. This issue has been brought up before. Unfortunately, if you look behind/under the hedges you notice that this property only has a 1 width section of sidewalk. I keep the hedges cut back (every week) so that 1 width is passable (especially for those with baby strollers) because I do care, about how my apartment looks and my neighborhood. I've lived here for 6 years.
Regardless, I have passed this post along to the landlord.
