This house has been vacant and abandoned for close to two years. Multiple windows on the first and second floor are either covered in plywood or are broken without any covering, the wooden trim around windows and doors is rotted out, and the property is overgrown with vegetation.

I reported theses issues to L&I and within days they marked all of violations as "complied with" even though nothing has been done to this vacant home. In fact, since reporting this house, the condition has deteriorated even more and the weeds have grown even higher. Some of the windows on the west side of the home (two on the first floor and one on the second) are so rotted and warped that they are about to fall out of the brickwork. An additional first floor window has no glass and the blinds are actually hanging outside of the home. This structure is the definition of blight.

This house continues to sit vacant and abandoned and with the cold/wet weather, deterioration has accelerated. Cracks are appearing in the exterior bricks all along the side of the house, wooden window frames are falling off and hanging precariously from the first and second floors and many of these same windows are missing entire panes of glass and are either haphazardly covered with boards or with clear plastic that has ripped long ago. Something needs to be done ASAP.

Last week some workers showed up at the abandoned property and cleaned the walkway along the side of the house, Then they covered the front door and all of the broken windows on the first floor with plywood and posted an orange NO TRESPASSING document. It doesn't look very nice, but it is progress.

Trash is beginning to pile up along the walkway aginst the west side of the house, including a large TV and pallets. The front of the property is also overgrown with weeds and a side window at ground level providing access to the basement is completely gone which allows for direct access into the vacant structure.

The house is still boarded up on the front door and most of the windows. The front basement window at ground level and a side window at ground level are both missing so they are wide open for exposure to weather, animals, and trespassers. A second floor side window is also missing and the blinds partially stick out of the house. The property has changed hands via a $1 deed between two related parties (either husband and wife or son and mother), but the house continues to sit vacant and deteriorate as it contributes to the blight of this city.

This house continues to deteriorate as the weeds grow larger and around it. It is a dangerous eyesore, a shell property, and the last vacant house on the entire block.

As of yesterday, 11/17/2016, they have started working on the house. The plywood on the front door and front window were removed and workers were beginning to gut the house. They plan on converting it from a duplex into a single-family home, but it needs a ton of work inside and out.
