I'm thinking it's the RR that needs to know.

About 10 days ago, our engineer brought this problem to the attention of the MDOT's Railroad inspector while he was doing his routine tracks inspection. He took pictures and we were told that MDOT will follow up with CN Railroad.

Can anyone report any updates re: this RR crossing here? The RR companies have been doing other repairs to other crossings in the area (Hagadorn and Bogue Streets), would be nice if they made some modifications to this one while they were in town w/ their eqpt.

This crossing is still dangerous for bicyclists; the gaps between the rails and the pavement is way too wide causing flats and damaged wheels IF you cross safely/ correctly. I pity the inexperienced bicyclists who cross unsafely and get their wheel caught in the gap and crash in front of cars.

Still the same; no changes that I've seen this summer.

Any updates on this Mr. Severy? It's been 3 years now; no telling how many busted wheels and flat tires this crossing has caused for unsuspecting bicyclists using Haslett Rd.

We have made another request to the MDOT Rail Safety Office to have this crossing repaired. MDOT indicated they would check on this and with CNRR to see if/when repair is scheduled and get back with us. I will reply with an update when MDOT responds to me.
