This road is actually called Medford St., as far as I know
This stretch of road is just atrocious. I've lived outside of Union Sq. for 8 years, and it has always been this bad. All I've ever seen are some small and generally useless asphalt patches.
This road is heavily abused -- tractor trailer traffic going into the cold storage, and all the highway traffic that goes into Cambridge. On top of that it sits between two cities.
Is it that Somerville and Cambridge can't decide who should repave it? Is it that there's some obstacle to closing it for repaving?
Whatever the reason it's been so bad for so long and so heavily used it really deserves some attention. It's just a disaster to go over on a bike.
